Producing Your Own Edinburgh Fringe Show (Workshop Series)
19TH AND 20TH JANUARY
LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE
Are you a live performer looking to take the leap and produce your own show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe? Or maybe you've already produced your own show before and want to learn some tips for next time? For the first time, we're putting on a special two-night remote workshop to help demystify the production side of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
BIGHEAD Comedy was started in October 2022 and, starting with a monthly event in a Hackney pub, we've evolved into a live production company that have produced numerous sell-out Edinburgh Fringe productions as well as shows that have won multiple awards across the festival, including Rosalie Minnitt: Clementine, Bebe Cave: CHRISTBRIDE and Rosa Garland: Primal Bog.
Without a producer working for you, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe can feel like an insurmountable task, and there's lots of areas where you can slip up if you're not careful. If you're going to self-produce, it's important for you to know the basics.
We will be running two workshops at 6:30pm each night on 19th and 20th January.
And in these you can expect to learn things like…
- How to fill out your venue applications
- How to find and approach PR for representation
- The ideal timeline for your Edinburgh Fringe journey
- A (rough!) budget for your Edinburgh Fringe
- How to get the best marketing for your money
- What to do if you have a lot of props/tech to manage
- How to sell your show to casual audiences
- Tips for applying for the Keep It Fringe fund and other Fringe-specific funding bodies
- How to manage your street team
- How to prepare your show for Fringe tech
- and much more!
There will also be a significant amount of time dedicated to answering any questions you have on our topics of discussion.
There are so many different ways to do everything listed above, but if you don't know where to get started we want to give you our experience on what to do and what not to do. We want to help others put on shows and help create more opportunities for comedians across the UK and beyond and we're really looking forward to helping you put on shows, no matter who you are or how much industry know-how you have.
